1. Im not going to tell yo to change your lifestyle... that is none of my buisness. But, i will tell you that smoke and alcohol can be harmful to your rats lungs. Really there is nothing that i can do to stop you, but i can help you...

Instead of smoking inside, why not just take it outside?

When some friends of yours come over to drink, make sure they stay AWAY from the cage.

Or, put the rat cage at the far corner of the room and keep a fan on them. make sure the fan is blowing TOWARDS you and your friends so it blows the fumes away. But DONT leave the fan on!!!! rats can get a chill if you leave it on.

Hope my answer can help you! Miley<3

  2. No, im guessing alchol and Pot could kill them. The pot in a slow and painful way, cigarette smoke will weaken thier lung and if to much could kill them. I suggest you leave them at home. Yes Alcohol, Cigarettes and Pot could potentiolay kill you rat and im sure you dont want that. And what if you get so drunk and leave your poor ratties behind lol, im sure the ratties or the staff wont like that. SO...i stronly suggest leave them behind.

  3. It is VERY bad for rats to breathe cigarette smoke and marijuana smoke. They have enough respiratory problems as it is. Also they can NOT have alcohol.

  4. Alcohol could probably kill a rat in large enough doses, so I'd make sure none ends up in their cage.

Smoke (From anything) can be really harmful. Both damaging to the lungs, and it seems from my experiences, animals who live in really smokey homes develop cancer. (Of course, that's based on a family I know's cats, aand they smoke very heavily inside, and all their cats have ended up dying of cancer when they were still somewhat youngish.)

  5. NO!!

  6. Its bad for anybody to consume alcohol or breathe in smoke

why would it different for rats??

  7. DO NOT feed any alcohol to your poor rattie, this is so bad for them, and could be deadly. As for the smoke, remember that rats have very sensitive lungs and if you can I would try to keep your rat away from the smoke as much as you can.

  8. Alcohol causes people to have liver problems, since rats have much smaller livers they should not be consuming any alcohol. I don't see why that would be a problem, though, even at college. Why would your rat drink alcohol?

Cigarette and marijuana smoke, though, are VERY harmful to rats. They have extremely sensitive respiratory systems and they can develop some real problems if they're constantly exposed to smoke. You should even use harsh cleaners on their cages, let alone smoke in the same room. Rats are prone to respiratory problems even when kept in ideal conditions. The risk would be much, much worse if marijuana and cigarettes were smoked around them.

  9. as most people it is bad to consume alcohol or breathe cigrarette smoke....so i think it would be the same for rats....hope i could help

  10. Um, its not even healthy for a human to do this, so why would it be okay for a rat, or any other animal at that, to be around that?

  11. any of the things u asked is okay for rats is life threatening for them. the smoke they could take, but for only so long. they would eventually get a respiratory problem and die from it most likely. and a small consumption of alcohol could kill them. their bodies just cant handle those situations. so ya, that either is very harmful for the delicate bodies of rats.
