Some animals like sharks can sense changes in vibrations that prey make and this alerts them to it.

If you think about it, how can anything smell fear? Fear is a state of being. It's an abstract noun. Fear isn't really a thing.

  9. I've heard that it was and I think it is...

  10. It may not necessarily be solely through the sense of smell but yes, there are certain biological, physiological and behavioural changes that would indicate to an observer, fear. One is more likely to precipitate (cold sweat) when frightened and/or at times, wet themselves thus leading to possible use of the term 'smell fear'.

Look up Fight or Flight response. This should give you the answer you want. We all have this Fight or Flight response in us as does any complex living organism.

  13. Not really, but not far from it.

Living beings reacts to their emotion, different scents maybe emitted when in different emotional states.

Some (not all) animals may sense or smell those scents (or heat, noise..etc), as indication of fear, love, anger or other emotions.

  14. fear triggers pheromones that are excreted in sweat, we dont notice it since we have adapted to use body signals but its there, so yes its true

  16. Um. No. No one can, thats impossibleee

  17. Animals can tell be how you react. If you watch a horse for example when it is frightened it will pin its ears back and get tense all over. Animals notice the same differences. They can't actually "smell" fear.

  19. I'm sorry to say the majority of people that have answered this have been incorrect.

Most animals can not the one's that can that created the expression can hear your heart rate. When you are afraid your heart beats faster and pumps more blood (you can't control that, naturally does when you're scared to make you more alert).

Animals like sharks, and snakes, or animals higher on the food chain (discluding us), can sense when your heart beats faster and pumps more blood.

By the way, you don't emit anything from your pores when your nervous, someone said that, that's not true,
