It seems too obvious of a ploy to get women to vote for him. I think it will backfire. Also, I don't think men will vote for her. He is blatantly trying to tap into the "Hillary Clinton fan base", which I don't think is a bad thing but this particular governor is well...obscure. I think this is a bad move on his part. What do you think?

  1. Sarah palin - Not going to happen

  2. No, but I have heard that it is Romney..

  3. Is she a protege of the Ted Stevens dynasty up in Alaska?  If so, there will trouble in the lower 48 if she will be presumed to be able to handle the Vice-President's angles in the U.S. Senate. . .

  4. And, Obama was not obscure?

  5. gettin nervous?

  6. No. I think it is a smart move. She is not a Washington insider and she has been a very effective Governor in Alaska.

  7. I disagree.  Gov. Palin is staunchly conservative, young, attractive, and quirky in a good way.   She's a hockey mom who snowmobiles and eats mooseburgers...She will be a media darling.  Further, she's extremely popular in Alaska due to her competence and honesty.  That will carry over to the national stage.

  8. Haha, liberals are getting nervous.......Palin is a great choice, I didn't think he would pick her because she is relatively unknown.  Like Jindal, she is a staunch conservative and a fresh face and if true, I applaud McCain for having the guts to pick her.

  9. had to change my answer.  It is Palin. Demo's are really going to attack her for her international skills, and that "ready to lead" stuff, and experience.   That what they used against Obama?  Sort of a strange choice?

  10. I don't think it matters who McCain picks.  I doubt any VP candidate could go toe-to-toe with Biden, not to mention, there is general discontent with all things Republican.

  11. I think it is a great idea!!!  Not only is she a woman but a very conservative Republican. McCain is continually being blamed for not being conservative enough.

  12. If you look at her policies she could be a man. LOL. Im  man and she would get my vote for president. Shes not confirmed yet and it could be a big hub bub over nothing. Of the choices Ive heard mentioned she appeals to me more than any of em. Will it help him with women? Sure it will, but also take into account her conservative record, much more than McCain and the fact that her Husband is a Native Eskimo. He gets some more of the minority vote for that too I guarantee. I think alot people dont view Native Americans as a minority, but they are and that makes a difference. I think she is an excellent choice.

  13. No one gets it. He didn't choose her to get the Hilary supporters. He chose her because she can relate PERFECTLY to the middle class. She has five children, her parents were teachers in an elementary school, she got into politics first by joining the PTA commity of her childrens schools.  In her speech, she even said that her husband does something with motorized snow riding or something. They're the typical middle class family of America.

  14. I think that most voters, come November, will vote for the top of the ticket and the VP choice will be nothing more than a push in the direction of their agenda.  I do agree that if he chooses Palin, one of the reasons is to gain support from Hillary voters, but I also think it is to try and appease the staunch conservatives out there who think he's not a strong enough representative for the party, and I also think it is because of her youth - to combat the Obama hype about someone young and fresh.

In the end though, when you're in the voting booth, you're thinking McCain or Obama and not Biden or Palin.
