Is it a bad idea to wear this to school even though I wear stuff similar to it?

I was thinking of wearing a black wash denim mini skirt (not super short), a NIN concert t-shirt, a black studded belt (the studs are more like spikes actually), black over the knee stockings, and my 8 hole cherry red dr. martens.

Normally my mom thinks I dress funny, but she thought this was cute which was awkward. I'm a women's US 5, so I can pull it off, but I wonder what the teachers will think, I'm not a bad person or anything, but the style might suggest so?

I usually dress like this from day to day...but maybe it is over the top? First day of 9th grade/highschool.

I wouldn't on the first few weeks...you don't want to have a bad first impression.

Personally, with my style, I'd express myself completely on the first day of school. I'm in 6th grade.

But for you going into high school with your edgy style (which ROCKS by the way!) might be a little TOO edgy. Some teachers are bizarre and are very judgemental. I'd take it down a notch or two and express who you really are in the next week or so.

I think the outfit sounds cool (even though I tend to dress in bright colours)! I would wear it, except maybe not te studded belt. But you can. It's your style. Don't let other people go to you. Good luck on your first day of school, and hope people like your outfit! :)

if you do...don't walk around like a b*tch or like you're cooler than everyone or a sl*t. unless that's what you're trying to come off as. it sounds like a cute party outfit, but school? i don't know. maybe that skirt (no belt) with a white (or pink) collared button-up, not the stockings, but the shoes yeah. look cute and sophisticated not trashy.. it's school.
