  1. what do you mean by "blood thin blood"?  that makes no sense.

If you mean a type of anemia ( low number of red blood cells) then first one has to determine what kind of anemia.  It may be from poor nutrition, or blood loss or a type of disease (eg cancer) that destroys the blood cells or affects the bone marrow.

If you mean "too thin" because it doesn't clot properly, that may be indicative of a different type of problem.  Low platelets may suggest a bone marrow disease, lack of clotting factors may indicate a nutritional problem or liver disease.  Or maybe they are taking a blood "thinner" like aspirin or coumadin.

Your question is kind of vague, but I tried to give you some factual information anyway.   Proper treatment depends on proper diagnosis.

There is no evidence gingko biloba does anything at all...it has been touted as a memory booster, but that has been proven false in several very large randomized double blind trials.  It has never been proposed as a treatment for "thin blood", and there is no evidence suggestive it does anything there either.

  2. Gingko Biloba will improve your circulation, but it will not treat anemia.  Increasing your dietary iron can help, but more helpful would be finding the cause.  For instance, a common cause of anemia is taking medications containing aspirin or ibuprofen, as they cause gastrointestinal bleeding.

  3. I have thin blood, and my Doc. said it is genetic.  He told me to avoid aspirin, ibuprofen and garlic pills.
