Gordo, says he wants to put more bobbys back on the beat. Is this type of behaviour going to happen regularily? Is it a case of too little too late?

Where was their back up? I guse I can take some osrt of comfort in knowing it's not just the regular victims of crime who have to wait hours for help, it's the coppers too.

  1. the problem isnt that there are less police on the street - the problem is the feral kids running riot on the street - with no respect for anyone - including the police it seems! i would have pepper sprayed or tassered (sp) their f*ing faces off.

  2. Too bad this happened on the one street corner in London that doesn't have a camera on it.

  3. if they have no respect for the uniform, what chance has any one else got to reign these out-of-control thugs in?

I hear the trouble started after the girl was asked to pick up her dropped wrapper, picked it up with a sneer & a growing group behind her, she dropped it again!

    Pitiful.

    I blame her parents.

  4. It's shocking behaviour and what we are becoming accustomed to. The problem of course lies with the atrocious excuses for parents who allow their ill-bred thugs to do as they please. I wouldn't want the job of the Police in a million years and hope he had a tetanus jab.......

  5. Like all Gordelpus ideas the words horse and bolted spring to mind.  People have been crying out for more uniform officers on the street and all we get are more cameras and plastic coppers. They wont admit it but they've simply lost control.

  6. I bet that stupid little girl is now sitting in a cell crying for her mummy. They are all the same. so brave when backed up by a crowd. Utter cowards when they are caught.

  7. to much paper work they say, well this just takes the biscuit, litter, yes i think its to late also, the trouble is,there hands are tied,to many specials, they are not taken seriously, something needs to be done, its not just the police its in all sectors, the ambulance service fire, they have all come under attack, for doing there jobs, and many times saving lives,i cant understand it,hopefully things pick up,peAce.

  8. 'Two men aged 34 and 38, both from South Norwood, were arrested on suspicion of assault and violent disorder on Thursday.'

    Pretty old teenagers....lol

    Edit:

FFS Elliot don't insinuate that I implied the actual incident was funny...but when it is reported that teenagers were to blame and it turns out to be two men in their thirties then one has to question the slant put on it by the media instead of reading things into it that aren't there....as you just have...

  9. Here in America the cops would have just shot the punks. Problem solved. Of course then the liberal media would have went nuts and talked about how the "children" were murdered.

  10. The police are the only authority figures who actually stand up to the disgraceful behaviour of some children and young people. Parents have declined to or are unable to control the behaviour of their offspring, or condone such brutality. Politicians wring their hands and fail to take the credit for their limp wristed approach to law and order. They can hit a speeding mororist with a fine and points but they cannot control a section of todays youth, other than to task the police with the job no one else wants. Schools are struggling to maintain their collective will over the worst offenders. Those they cannot contain are excluded. Once excluded they are either socially isolated or join with like minded thuggish young people who terrorise neighbourhoods and our city centres. It is an absolute disgrace that 30 young people were so much of similar mind as to inflict injuries on police officers. The girl who started this was warned to pick up some litter she had dropped, picked it up and dropped it again. Typical challenging behaviour of youth out of control.

  11. It's quite scary when you think about it. This incident has certainly made me realise that the police are just vulnerable human beings like everyone else.

In answer to your question, I don't think it's too late for the government to start thinking about putting more cops on the streets, but what's also necessary, is that they get to the root of the cause of today's rise in crime and do something about it. Prevention is better than cure.
