You better do a CARFAX on it, as I believe these cars are more expensive even at ten years old.

Mercedes are complicated beasts, the parts expensive and the mehanic's time moreso.  If you're not prepared (and not just mentally) to work on this yourself, pass.  There are other cars to look sophisticated in, and just about every one of them is easier and cheaper to maintain.
