I just started riding and I've noticed that when I pass another bike going the other way, they'll wave as if to say "Hey Brother!". Does everyone do that or just a few?

  1. Two fingers with the left hand.  No to scooters or mo-peds

  2. i mean it does but you always need to look at the road in front of you to! haha

  3. its just something that you have to do ha. Except if you a ****** that is only riding a bike to look cool.

  4. I don't care what you ride, but I don't acknowledge anyone without a helmet and proper riding gear.

  5. Most of the guys with two wheels on the road will wave at you, so enjoy your ride and wave back!

  6. Yes, it is common to ride. No, old school Harley riders are not less likely to wave than others. Actually, I have found that Beemer riders are the least likely to wave, but I realize that this could just be because they didn't see me. For a long time, it seemed that sport bike riders were the least likely to wave at those of us on Harleys- but that was in the past.  Seriously- most of us wave. It's our way of saying, "Isn't it great to be catching the wind on this fine day?"

If you ever pass me, and I don't wave, you can bet I was holding in my clutch or just didn't see you.

  7. yes it's a common practice with bikers. the left outstretched arm just below the handle bars with palm flat and facing forward is common.. don't use the One% sign (finger next to the thumb) it may not set well with some bikers..have a good ride.

  8. "The Wave" is the norm but You have to use some common sense. If You are at Sturgis or Daytona bike week with Thousands of other Riders it is not practical to wave at every bike You see.

  9. real riders do...a lot of the yuppie wanna be's don't. And usually if your on a rocket the cruisers won't and vice verse. I wave to everyone I don't care what you ride.

  10. I'll wave from time to time however they are not my "brother."

  11. I wave at other riders when I am on the road.  I enjoy the fact we few have chosen a different form of transportation than the majority.  We chose to ride a machine that is hard to ride.  We operate five controls while balancing on two wheels.  We chose when we shift.  We chose how we corner.  We chose how we brake.  We customize our machines to make them unique.  That make us unique.  I wave to all the unique riders I see.

  12. Most everyone does

  13. Where I ride it would be considered an insult if you did not wave. I've noticed lately that a lot of newer riders do not. And Harley riders always acknowledge when I wave and I definitely don't have a Harley. I ride an old BSA.

  14. depends on what you are riding. alot of the old school HD riders wont wave unless you are riding a harley.

  15. Almost all riders wave. Not everyone can ride a bike you know!

  16. Everyone does it...unless they're a prick.

  17. I wave at everyone I see on two wheels !

  18. I ride a Harley and a Ninja. I am a Female and everyone waves at me.Regardless of what I am riding and what they are riding. I don't usually wave first.

  19. I am "old school" and I'll give a wave at anybody (except scooters, I just can't do it) ;0)
