Is it a crime to take abandoned bicycles and parts?

There is a few bikes around that obviously haven't moved for months or years. Can I take them and/or parts?

  1. They are probably rusted and junky but it matters the location.

    Are they in an open field in the country take them

    Are they in an alley I would be sure that they are not owned.


  2. Dunno. But I do the same thing. I think the real crime is the t**t who dumps it in the street so some unfortunate soul can trip over it. Carry on m8 im sure any sensible law abiding citizen will turn a blind eye. :)

  3. If it doesnt belong to you and you dont have permission from the owner, then its stealing.      Why not just ask?   Most people would likely give you the bike if its been totally neglected.

  4. well if your seen to be recyling it , and putting it to reuse , then why the h**l not? better than it just lying there not doing anything,.. if theres a law stopping this , then thats just plain stupid, as we all wanna help the planet somewhere
