Is it a curse to be born without knowledge "pre-installed" into ourselves.?

But with it would come the sin of thousands of generations. So is it also a blessing?

(Not speaking religously)

  1. A blessing.  ROM is much more expensive (both in a computer and in an animal) than RAM, because it has to be programmed genetically.  Since evolution looks to the cheapest solution that will do the job of advancing reproductive success, the human ROM knows little more than how to suckle, excrete, and look cute.  Even learning how to see is a RAM function: the visual cortex is a programmable logical array, in which neurons (rather than fuses) are blown to have the correct connections and get rid of the wrong ones.

  2. It's both. But, speaking religiously, it's necessary.

  3. blessing

  4. Saying "Not speaking religiously" and "sin" in the same question is dangerous.

Humans have all sorts of innate mental capacities.  It's true that they don't have factual knowledge but that's only a small part of what the brain does.  I reject the idea that knowing facts about the past would expose you to the sins of the past - I know about King David's murders, but that doesn't make me a murderer.   It's possible to hold this information objectively.

So I think it would be a blessing (another religious idea, btw) as we wouldn't have to sit through class.
