  1. Really, you can't tell??  Does it have legs??

Odds are if you're not sure, it's probably a nipple.

Get a flashlight or a magnifier and have a closer look.

  2. if it is big like a nipple and it is a tick it will look kind alight brownish it it is a tick and not filled with a lot of blood look closley and grab it pull slightly and ull be able to see tiny legs if its a tick and sometime a white spot on it. ive pulled ticks off of my dogs its really easy to tell. if it looks like a nipple, its a nipple!

  3. you would be able to tell if it was a nipple because the skin would graduate over onto the body. however, it is not unusual to have a black nipple so don't go ripping it off before making sure. move it around and if it is one continuous piece of flesh, well you have a nipple. if not, pull hard and it may leave a slight hole where the tick latched on (you might have to use tweezers)

  4. Is there a matching one on the other side? Nipples do come in pairs you know? :-)

As others have said you will be able to see legs on a tick and it is quite obvious that there is a head buried aunder the skin. A nipple is usually the same size and rounded (in an unbred dog anyway)

BTW my black dog has black nipples and the ticks we get here are brown or blue/grey.

  5. It's probably a nipple. Ticks are usually a dark red or dull white, almost pearl color. Also, nipples are usually more pointed out, and tick would be just a fat bubble looking thing. It's actually easy to tell.

Add: Also, if it happens to get bigger, you don't have to go to the vet, to get it removed, you could use tweezers to pull it off, or slip a glove or sandwich baggy over your hand and pull it off. It won't hurt your dog.

    P.S.

Be happy your using a baggy, my dad is old fashioned and pulls them off with his bare hand. *barf* Lol

  6. i would  take a magnifying glass and get a closer look if it is hard go to a vet they will know but if you don't want to just keep checking it if it gets bigger or moves its a tick.

  7. look closer.  a ticks body will be outside and the head will be buried.  you will clearly be able to tell if it is a bug body.  if you still aren't sure, don't pull it!

you should google it too, because there are right and wrong ways to pull off a tick.

  8. Dog nipples are black?umm.........its a tick.

  9. ew i hate them things....is it moving, try gently tugging with tweezers, have someone hold him down, while you take a look..also theres equal amount of nipples in each row so u wouldnt see :::.

example  :::.      see how one is by itself (the little dots by example), thats a tick...lol hope this helps!!

  10. Does it have legs? If it does it's a tick.

  11. My female dog has black nipples.  Compare it to the nipple on the other side.  Also, could it be  a mole?  Dogs get them too esp when they are older.
