  1. To add a little more to some of the answers above - it is a fault if you go through with the entire swing of the service motion. If you throw the ball up and don't swing - it is not a fault. If you throw the ball up, get the racket up, but don't complete your full service motion - it is not a fault. Once you go through the entire motion and miss the ball entirely - this is a fault.


  2. if you take a full swing at it is counted as a fault. annoying cause it happens to me alot. if you just throw the ball up and don't swing than it is not counted.

    It is a fault if you miss the ball completely when you serve.

    I've never heard of the term 'an airy' before.
