Is it a foul in a game of 8 ball when?

say you pocket the eight ball, and then you touch one of the opponents balls while getting up from the shooting position is that a foul ,or is the game over as soon as the 8 ball is pocketed

  1. Not a loss unless  the 8 does not go in  then it would be put back where it was by the ref

    A table foul not a cue ball foul that would result in a ball in hand foul but if the cue is still in motion the game is not over


  2. The game is over as soon as the 8 ball is pocketed and the cue ball has stopped rolling.

    If the 8 ball has been pocketed and you move another ball while the cue ball is still moving ---- technically, THAT is a foul.

  3. Right, it's only a foul if the cue ball is still moving. And if you pocketed the 8 ball and committed a foul on the same shot, you lose the game.

    You can also think of it this way: you pocket the 8 ball, but then the cue ball ends up scratching. That's still a loss of game regardless of which ball went first, so the game doesn't end as soon as the 8 ball is pocketed.
