  1. I think you're somewhat describing the 8 ball "kissing" off another ball. (If I am incorrect, please tell me so I can give you a precise answer).

If you're playing "Straight Eight" ----that means a clean shot on the eight ball (no kisses or touches) is required for the shot to be 'legal'. If the 8 ball kisses another ball and the 8 ball drops in the called pocket, it IS a loss of game.

If you're playing by the book (standard BCA rules) --- you only need to call the pocket and shoot the 8 ball into that pocket. If the 8 ball kisses off of another ball, it is NOT a foul.

If you're playing by house rules --- it all depends on what the house rules are:

Most house rules require that you make the 8 ball "clean"; in that the 8 ball does NOT touch or kiss another ball.

House rules vary, as does individual games played against whoever is in control of the table.

I suggest that BEFORE the game commences or starts ---that you ask if the 8 ball must go in "clean" or can it kiss another ball. Be sure to KNOW beforehand, if you must CALL the 8 ball off of another ball.

Note: that if you are required to CALL how the 8 ball is to be pocketed, and you call the 8 ball off the 7 ball (for example), and the 8 ball goes clean ----you lose.

It's crucial that you understand the house rules CLEARLY,  BEFORE you play or choose to play with the set rules. If you have ANY doubts or are confused ---ask for a clear explanation. It's not unusual to ask about the house rules, or the rules that the person holding the table is playing. You can even suggest to him/her to play a game of "bank the 8" or "last pocket", etc.

    Have fun!

  2. I'll take the other interpretation of the question. If you touch another ball with your clothing or cue stick or whatever, it's a foul by official rules (see link). Some places play "cue ball fouls only" in which case it's only a foul if you touch the cue ball while it's in play.

If you pocket the eight ball and then the cue ball rolls and touches another ball, that's not a foul and you've won the game, supposing you pocketed the 8 ball in the pocket that you called.

  3. Im wondering how you mean that my self

I do play by world standard rules so If you call the 8 in the pocket it went in with a good hit  it is not a foul

If you mean the way Tim thinks then he is right

If you are playing callshot and it did not go in " Clean" like Lori said she is right

  4. there should only be 1 8 ball
