  1. Rome is lovely during December, and there are very few other tourists to crowd you!  It is cold, but just bring some warm winter clothes, hat, gloves, coat, etc.  It might rain a bit, but it does not snow in Rome (well, almost never).  Usually, though, it doesn't get really rainy until mid-January.

There are a lot of festivals during that period.  Hopefully, you will stay for Christmas and New Year's.  If you are bringing kids, they will really enjoy the celebration for Befana, the Christmas witch.

Museums typically have shorter hours, opening just in the mornings.  They're still open, though.  Nothing actually shuts down during December.

  2. I think any time is a good time to visit Rome. Just bring a warm coat, gloves, scarf and hat.

    Enjoy your trip.

  3. actually i think it's the best period.

christmas is a very important event for romans (and italians in general). so, in the period soon before chistmas you'll find all over the city a great happiness and will to be happy. there are stalls everywhere. you can buy roasted chestnuts at every corner.

than in piazza navona there is a huge chistmas market. and, of course, in piazza san pietro there is a chistmas tree and the creche.

i think that is definitely the best period to visit rome. and don't worry, the weather will be fine.

    enjoy your holiday!

  4. Yes of course!
