Is it a good idea for a person to go on a cruise alone?

I'm a single guy at 19 years old. I've been saving money for a vacation and thought about going on a cruise, but all the advertisements I have seen show cruises with couples and families. I don't have any friends, so this would be a solo trip.

  1. You have to be at least 21 yrs. old to cruise alone. If you're not, then you have to be accompanied by someone who's 25+ yrs. But if you were old enough, I say go for it. Cruises are safe and full of stuff to do.

  2. Depending on the cruiseline you're looking at, they won't let you cruise alone at your age.

There may be another kind of cruise, the steamboat or Windjammer, that you could go on, I'm not sure.

But yes, if you were old enough to go on the big cruise lines, it would be okay to go alone if you couldn't find anyone else to go with you.

They have singles get togethers in the clubs, and plus other activities where you'll meet people, and you'll meet tablemates at breakfast and dinner if you ate in the diningrooms.

If you booked an excursion, you'd be out with a smallish group touring or snorkeling or whatever it is you signed up to do, so it wouldn't be like you were alone.

  3. It wouldn't hurt to go on a cruise alone, you might meet new people there. P.S. You should meet new friends because in university and college (if you're going), it's best to have friends because whenever you're stuck on something, they can always help you. Alot of people say that it's hard to graduate uni/college without any friends.

    Have a nice cruise!

  4. I would go to Freeport, Grand Bahama Isle, during spring break. Port Lucaya, specifically, is the spot everyone goes. It has music, dancing, bars that serve anyone, and is jam packed with students partying down. Not only that, but scuba diving, swimming with dolphins, parasailing, tours, not to mention the beaches....something to think about, and no 21 age limit!

  5. You can have a lot of fun alone but not sure if you can go by yourself at 19 years of age.

What ever you do don't cruise on CARNIVAL they suck and will cheat you if at all possible. Good luck and have fun

  6. sure u dont have 2 have a whole family behind u 2 go on a cruise .

  7. Sure - Maybe you'll meet some people - Cruises are fun! Enjoy!

  8. if you choose a British cruise line, you have to be 18 only

  9. There are singles cruises. Ask a travel agent.
