  1. i don't think so.  just think about it if u were driving and car sunddnley stoped and u had to walk to get some where whould your feet like it?

  2. I would love to drive barefoot, I do think you can be ticketed for it if pulled over, and I find my foot slips off of the brake and gas peddle easier.

  3. i drive barefoot more than i do with shoes even just around town. i ditch the sandals soon as i get in the car...those things can be dangerous LOL...driving i get better feedback barefoot esp a 5-speed than with sneakers.  and on long trips my feet aren't tired.

And NO its not illegal to drive barefoot in the US.  Those old folks who think it is probably sleep in combat boots...

  4. here  and is is NOT illegal do so

Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware,Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming:

  5. I like to drive barefoot also especially since i have a clutch it just give me a better feel of the car and i love my car

  6. I don't drive but I go barefoot always and everywhere, and I do know that in spite of persistent myths in the US, there are NO laws against driving barefoot in ANY state. Unfortunately, this myth is so common that even some cops believe it... but everyone who believes this please see source and stop spreading this falsity.

Some cops are convinced it's unsafe and even though they know it's not illegal may try to write you up for unsafe or reckless driving, however please see the second and third link in the source, for two sites (one from the Michigan PD, one from an Australian newspaper) making it clear that driving barefoot is no more unsafe than many types of footwear that are regularly worn and could even be considered safer than many kinds of shoes.

Of course you should also think of what you are used to; personally I haven't worn footwear for eleven years. Driving with any kind of shoe would feel like handling the steering wheel with boxing gloves, a pebble won't faze me and I wouldn't worry about having to walk if my car breaks down. On the other extreme end I have a friend who can't walk comfortably barefoot on indoor tile, he'd probably pull back if there was even the smallest pebble, caked mud or other irregularity on the brake pedal, and he'd never be able to walk home if he didn't have shoes. Use a bit of common sense in addition to what the laws and the experts say, anything that's totally opposite from everything you're used to is likely to be a distraction and make you clumsy with your feet.

  7. if u want. why not? and just bring a pair of flip flops... so you could slip them on quick if needed.

  8. no and its illigal

  9. it is illegal in a lot of places, so if you get pulled over there will be a fine. I like it too!

  10. You are allowed to do this, you'd have to keep the pedals clean, in the event of an accident or emergency, your feet would not be protected.

  11. Drive barefoot is the most comfortable way. I can't drive long distances with shoes, I ever need to be barefoot. I recommend that you put your sandals near of you, because if you need to get out your car, you can put your sandals quickly, for example, if a police man stops you.

  12. u love being bare foot =]

lol no it's not a good idea cause if you get pulled over by the cops, you'll get a ticket for being barefoot =\

  13. I think it is against the law, you will have to check that out in your area and see if it is or not. I know where I live I was always told it was. Just be careful to not get a ticket!

  14. if it's comfortable do it! :) not like you're hurting anyone..! i remember when i was...maybe 12 i had to go to summer school and my babysitters daughter would come in to pick me up cuz my mom couldn't and she'd drive barefoot...thot it was the weirdest thing! now i see it as sensible! let the toes wiggle about and be free! WHICH IS WHAT I DID YESTERDAY LEAVING SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D walked out barefoot! whoo hoo!!!!

  15. Check this site to see if your state allows it...........

    http://tafkac.org/legal/driving.barefoot...

  16. i think if a policeman catches u doing that u mite get in2 a lil bit of trouble so i think driving with shoes on is a better idea

  17. Its strange you know, There is no law against driving in slip on shoes, thongs (flip flops?) or slippers, however, I find this to be a lot more dangerous than driving barefoot.

I regularly wear thongs when Im not working but I take them off when I drive. I find they slip off my feet or get stuck under or between the pedals.

  18. Yes, better control
