  1. Le petit prince is a classic, but I'm not sure I would recommend it. Even for a native french speaker it can be a wierd read as it has a lot of psychological meanings to it and requires putting a lot of thought in the read.

  2. I'd have to agree with Neerie, it's a tough book to understand, even for a french native. Better start with short novels made for kids.

  3. it depends upon your level of proficiency in french.. if you do not know all the verb tenses and conjugations you will not understand the text fully. youd be better off buying a mechanics book and learn tenses before reading a text....although this book is the millie vanillie of french literature it is still slightly difficult if you are new to the language haha.

  4. Deff! I got that in my french class. Its definately good because its simple and written for kids which makes it easier to understand! Also it has hidden life lesson meanings which is why it is studied in colleges. Similar to the doctor sesus stories. Hope this helps! Good luck : ]

  5. My french is only up to 1st year (Irish) university level, but I read 'le petit prince' in college and loved it.  No harm reading it, if you don't like it you don't have to finish it!

  6. It's a great book for beginning French students.
