Is it a good idea to fill out a second Job application?

I applied for Buffalo Wings about a week ago and the Hostess told me that she would give my Application to the Hiring Manager and they would call me. I waited about 2 weeks and they never called me. I called today and told them about how I applied. The assistant Manager said that my name did`nt sound familar and the Manger have been interviewing people but my name did`nt come up. she said that I can apply again if I wanted too, However I don`t really want to do that because what are my chances of getting called for a interview? The Assistant Hiring Manager said that maybe my Application was sent home by a Manager and the Manager never got around to look into it. I really want this job but I`m not sure about applying again because I might get rejected. I am really freaking out, I need your advise.

Because you are unsure whether or not your application made it to the hands of the manager or person doing the interviews, it would be best to put in another application.

You would not be seeming needy but making sure you are on the list.

If I was in your shoes, I would apply again... not saying anything to them in person of what had happened in the past.
