  1. i think that it's a wonderful idea, it will come useful when entertaining and water or juice needs to be on the dinner table, you could fill it with a bouquet of fresh flowers and add a small  balloon that say "New Home'

  2. If it is a good quality crystal piece (Waterford) then it may be given empty.  If it is ceramic, porcelain or pressed glass I'd pick some flowers from my garden (or some from the store) to dress it up.

  3. Perfect choice. Who doesn't drink water? If you want to put something in it take a cue from the design. If there are floweres on the side I suppose you could put flowers in it but I wouldn't want it to be confused with a vase if that would even be possible. I know some pitchers are tall and thin.

I think the pitcher will hold it's own.  The most impressive gifts are always wrapped beautifully, take the extra time to have it wrapped in a beautiful ribbon that can be reused. If you really feel compelled to fill it with something consider the reusable ice cubes that can be frozen. maybe a couple of lemons? kinda creative... Michele

  4. It is definitely a good idea.  Maybe filled with fresh flowers or whatever the lucky recipient loves would put a personal touch on the gift.

  5. You could fill it with the new little powder packs of flavored drink mixes.  There are so many on the market now.  Sit the pitcher in a nice square basket that they could use to store the powder packets.

These 'personal' powder packets have Crystal Light ... koolaid... lemonaide... lots of different flavors.

~or ~ How about some designer ice trays to go with the water pitcher?  You know ....the kind that have the weird shaped ice cubes.  Then every glass of water would be a little more fun with some weird and wild... or fun and pretty little ice cubes.

    ~or~

what about including enough of the water goblets for them to have a fancy dinner party to go with the pitcher.  These are very inexpensive at the Dollar Stores.  $1 a piece.  10-12 is probably a good round number of glasses to get.

or... go intimate and just get two.  Great 'intimate' gift for a couple that does not drink wine or alcoholic beverages.
