Is it a good idea to go study in Taiwan?

I want to study languages. I'm currently trying to learn Chinese. I just finished 8th grade. I get very worried about my future when I think about it. So I was wondering if anyone studied in Taiwan or if anyone plans on doing so and if it's a good idea. I'm prepared to work hard to learn Chinese and to learn the characters (both traditional and simplified). It has basically been my dream since I was little.

CharChar...Good for you!!! I do think it's a good idea. Taiwan is a great place to learn Chinese, especially traditional Chinese. Also most people there speak Mandarin without accent. (if you do this in Beijing you'll for sure get a heavy Beijing accent). Once you learn traditional Chinese you'll have no problem getting into the simplified ones. Also people in Taiwan are very friendly and very curious of foreigners. They're even nicer and helpful if they see your passion in learning their language.

I'm from Taiwan for the first 19 years of my life, then I moved to North America. Now I have little kids and there's no place I want to send them to but Taiwan to learn Chinese. It's great that sounds like you do have the time, money and chance to do it. I wish you well and I'm sure you'll love it there!
