  1. sure its fine! i took my 12 month old daughter last month, your daughter will love it!

    essentials:

*50+ spf baby suncream (also try to get the sand + water resistant suncream)

    *a nice cap/hat

*you need shade, so bring a beach tent or bring a beach umbrella

*water or juice or w.e to keep her hydrated

*also bring a towel or mat to sit on, your baby may not like the sand and sometimes the sand is reaally hot and burns my feet so bring some sandals for her aswell

    extras:

*huggies swimmer pants if she wants to go swimming, i also recommend the baby armbands or the inflatable seats if you want to go a big deeper but make sure your holding her

*small beach ball, bucket and spade etc something to keep her occupied

*when i went i also brought a cooler as i wanted her drinks and lunch to be nice and cold and fresh, i recommend you bring one

*and don't forget to buy her a ice cream =D i brought my daughter one at the beach and more went on her face than in her tummy!

NOTE: keep a eye on her at ALL times, if your sunbaving and closing your eyes you need another person watching her, beaches is one of the most popular places where children go missing and get taken, you can't trust many people now days

  2. Abi got it top to bottom, especially the note about keeping an eye on her at all times. have fun!

  3. One more aside.

Since allergies are a fairly new thing with babies, keep an eye on your girl at all times for puffy lips, or her sitting and rubbing her feet or acting like it hurts to walk on sand, even cool sand.  Allergies to fish and shell-fish can show up just from beach-spray and the sand, not to mention the ocean itself.

If an allergy attack does start to happen, douse her with clean water as best you can and get her out of there.  But make sure you douse her first.

  4. heck ya, i live in myrtle beach and i brought my son to the beach at 3 months and went in the water at 4 months (had to wait till the water was warm enough)and he loved it.  at such a young age we only stayed for an hour but at 13 months your baby should be fine, just listen to the essencials the first person put up and you will be fine.

  5. yeah its a good idea she may well love it or hate it. i took my 14 month old last week i i was shocked by how much he enjoyed, he really loved the water i had a job to get him out of it.

bring some towels and change of clothes, sunblock buckets and spade.have lots of fun but dont leave her too long in the water as she will get cold quick and warm and dry her up quickly and have fun playing in the sand.
