Is it a good idea to throw plastic bags and plastic wrappings out with the recycling?

I usually just throw them away, but I've been wondering if it would be smarter to recycle them along with old bottles and cans. There's no reason why I shouldn't, right?

You should bring the plastic bags to the supermarket and put it in a bin they usually have there. Plastic wrappings go in the trash, since the recycling guys would just take it out and throw it away when they sort everything out.....  its a good idea to check what numbers of plastic your reycycling company takes. Some take only 1 and 2,,,, just to let you know.

Yes, you are correct.  You should place all recyclable material in their proper containers for recycling, even the small stuff like wrappers and plastic bags.

ALL plastics are different.  You can not recycle those in our area.  Check with your local recycling authority.
