  1. Given the choice between Feb and the period between May to October I would recommend against going in Feb. It is really the dreariest and coldest month of the year.

However there is no reason why you should not enjoy your trip.

It is a city trip, so there is no need for nature to be warm and in bloom. Just pack some warm clothes or be prepared for a shopping spree on winter gear once you get there. Dress in layers, 3 long-sleeved t-shirts on top of each other will keep you very warm.

If you are going for just a week, I suggest you focus on Bavaria. Check out the Lonely Planet "Munich & Bavaria", it has a ton of info you should find interesting. Best buy it used on amazon. Places to see would be Nuremberg, Munich, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Regensburg and Dachau.

There is more to see in Germany than just Bavaria, but I think you might prefer to take short trips, using Nuremberg as a base.

If you want to put your nose into Austria Salzburg would be an option that I can highly recommend. Vienna is a bit far away (5 hours one-way with fast train) and would best visited using night trains.

You can plan your trips using http://www.bahn.de . If you travel only on local trains within Bavaria you can make use of the Bayern-Single Ticket for 19 EUR. Download the info brochure here: http://www.bahn.de/regional/view/mdb/pv/...

  2. YES ACOMPANY HIM!!!!

You may make love! Lol just kidding

you shud accompany him after all hes bring the cash back and a little company wont hurt

  3. Germany in February is cold everywhere, so make sure that you have some good winter clothing with you. However, you can buy good clothin in Nürnberg, too, and on the other hand, February in Germany CAN be surprisingly warm. I don't say it will; we're within the central European climate zone, and weather can always be a surprise.

I live in Bavaria, near the Nürnburg area, and there's a city you should see that can easily reached by train, and that's Regensburg (or Ratisbon, in English) on the river Danube. Just take a day trip there with the "Bayernticket" available at Deutsche Bahn. (The "Bayernticket" is that sort of ticket they offer here in every federal state, and which allows you to travel on the day of purchase until 3 am the next day, and Deutsche Bahn is German Railways, www.bahn.de on the internet, but it's better to use a vending machine at Nürnberg central station.)

If you like, you can also take a train to the Czech republic. Prague certainly is a town worth seeing. And there are cheap flights available to Amsterdam, Netherlands, or even Rome, Italy. And if you feel like homesick and want to hear some native English speakers, go fly to London for a weekend.

I don't actually recommend the Bavarian capital, Munich. I lived and worked there for three years, and I didn't like it much. But as a visitor to Bavaria, maybe you should see it. There's really nothing much about it except the Oktoberfest, but they have some great buildings and museum. If you like cars, you should see the BMW museum. (Yes, they have one of their own.) If you like arts and sculptures, maybe the Glyptothek would be the right thing for you.

  4. Hi

It can get really cold there just as in the North East of the States in New England where I am.

Dress warm and bring plenty of layers, gloves, and a hat!

I would go, it is still a great time even if cold in the winter. As far as cities there are many you could go see.

    Have fun.

  5. What are your interests?  Paris isn't far, Zurich is nice, Amsterdam is fantastic, Brussels is near. All of Europe fits in 3/4's of the u.s. I love museums & regret that I spent most of my time there is some of the greatest bars that I have ever seen on earth. Yes, go with him. get a "feddors" travel book & see what you might like. Have your passport?

  6. It depends really on you! I went to Munich in February in 2006 and I loved it! The weather was a wee bit icey, not extremely cold although I'm from Scotland so I'm used to the cold lol. Towards the end of our stay it snowed and it was pretty deep.

How far are you prepared to travel to see other cities? I would suggest seeing Munich, it's lovely! Another big city nearish you is Stuttgart. Berlin and Hamburg are probably too far away.

Whatever you end up doing have fun! Germany is a beautiful country!

  7. Who care about the weather,

Your with your husband and in Germany!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    What greater place to be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Something you have to experience in you life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. depends on how much you like cold weather.

  9. Well if 10C is already the coldest weather experience you have, you should be well aware, it's really cold. I myself have been living all my life already here and still if I don't wear enough clothes, especially my feet you are going to regret it. But well, if you only stay a week, you should only consider those cities near Nuernberg (I guess that's what you meant). But on the other hand if it's just one week, rather stay where you are if it's warmer. But lol it's up to you of course, since the weather here in Germany is always changing, so who knows you might be able to catch some sunshine which we also had in the last days ^^
