With the ad lines of "My Place or Your Place"? No, lets go to "Our Place".

  1. Sounds excellent to me. really nice idea.

Does it fit the kind of food and service you are offering and is the atmosphere going to be that group type atmosphere?

Our place - for me at least - gives a feeling of parties of people having evenings out - like stags and birthdays and work Christmas dinners etc - big tables and lots of laughter -

It could work as a 'table for two' bistro type intimate place - because it uses a personal pronoun - but not so much with the line 'EVERYONE comes together' because that has a more communal Wagamamas/family diner type ring to it.

It's warm so may attract  - BUT it also may put some people off who don't like the feeling of walking in somewhere where everyone may already be in a group or know each other or where the staff may be over-friendly.

    Just some thoughts!

But good luck whatever you decide.

  2. sounds like a cheap fish and chip shop sorry but if i saw this in a phone book i would avoid it

  3. Cool

  4. I really like Our place as a name, however I think the ad line is awful (sorry to be so brutally honest) It's so cheesy i think it would put me off coming to the restaurant.

The end bit of 'The place where EVERYONE comes together' isn't too bad, so i'd suggest just using that and cutting the first one.

    Good Luck with the restaurant!!

  5. sounds very nice but you could make it sound cozier.

like: "our place"...  The nice little place where EVERYONE comes to eat\ to dine.

    or:

"a touch of heaven"  our little place where everyone comes. or you can add: to eat\ to dine.

hope i helped and hope you have great success.

p.s. please vote me best answer.

  6. yes, sounds alright

  7. It's a g*y joint right?

    try

    "The battered Codpiece"

  8. i think it sounds good :-)

    good luck with it all

  9. is this a family owned restaurant? What style of food? What part of the country? Who is your market? You could accomplish the same thing by coming up with another way to get the same message across. For example, "cracker barrel" is well known, but the name is interesting. In old time general stores, the cracker barrel was where everyone gathered to share gossip, and to eat samples. It was the same idea (gathering together) but with a different name. The connotation of a "cracker barrel" is a time when people talk together. How about "The Front Porch Cafe"?

  10. Depends. What time of food will you be serving? Prices? Kind of atmosphere? With this name it sounds like it would be less expensive, chill type of t'shirt jeans place. If thats what you are going for. I like the name. Where is it going to be located?

  11. bit corny,if in the country good

if in the city don't bother

  12. i think it sounds really cosy and friendly. good choice of name :)

  13. I like it!

.... it brings to mind a cosy restaurant rather than a big minimalist place...

If you are opening a cosy, quaint restaurant then it sounds just about right. If not....

Also, I like the first part of the ad line, but "The place where everyone comes together" is a bit twee

    Best of luck!

  14. that is SAWEET!!! absolutely LOVE IT!

  15. It's not all that imaginative, to be honest.

The person who said it is "corny" is spot on. I'd reconsider.

  16. AND if you do fish dishes you could call it "our plaice"?

  17. I would have loved:  "WAKKIS"  for a restaurant.

My Place or Your Place could be misinterpreted for a brothel

  18. I don't mind the name, but the ad lines don't seem to fit.  "Our Place" sounds family-oriented to me, while the "My place or your place?" sounds like a sexual come-on!

  19. It's awful! but in a really good way. There's a song by the Fall called 'The Steak Place' I always thought that would be a cool name for a restaurant.

  20. Sounds like the name for a chip shop with little or no imagination, sorry.
