Is it a good or bad idea to take Biology and Chemistry my sophmore year?

I guess you have to see what the advantages and disadvantages are for you personally.  First, by taking both in your sophomore year, what does that permit you to take later?  Surely advanced chemistry is an option, and perhaps physics and advanced physics.  Most science programs begin with earth science or a general science class the freshman year, and then Biology is usually take the sophomore year.  Normally, Chemistry follows, the physics.  Your school may have even more options... perhaps you have a love for astronomy or another brance of science.  If you can handle the heavy load, and you want to take advantage of your options, I say "Go for it."  If you're concerned your GPA might drop, that you'll get stressed out, or perhaps wish you had more of a social life, there's no harm in taking one science course per year.  You'll have plenty of time in college to take all the science you want :)


  2. Are you interested in both of these subjects? If the answer is not really then it would probably be a bad idea. Biology has a lot of memorization and Chemistry to me was kind of like a math class. Both require a fair amount of time.
