Is it a good thing to over water your vegi's and plants?

my friend over watered her banana peppers and they grew 5 in one day, so is it good? and if it is, what are the side-effects?

  1. overwatering will slowly kill the plant dont water it for a few days then only water it sparcly and every other day happy growing


  2. No.  It was probably just a coincidence.  Overwatering can cause root rot and mold and other bad things.  Each plant should be watered properly for the type it is.

  3. Usually it is not good to over water veggies.  Tomatoes will crack if they get too much water at once.  Plants can wilt from too much water, because the roots are actually drowning.  It sounds like the pepper was happy with the water, so I would say it wasn't 'over' watered.

  5. Over watering wastes water and can harm plants.  If the drainage is good, it does not matter.  However, the roots may rot and the plant may die.

  7. no, you can definitely drown your plants, they can start to rot...all plants are different though, some need more water than others obviously...
