Is it a good thing to take the writing part on the ACT. If so why?

Some colleges require the writing part. Its not better or worse its just that some colleges require it. If you're excellent at writing and you think it'll boost your score you should do it. It is more expensive (About $20 more) than just the regular test you know. If you don't know what college you're going to yet take the writing part just in case they require it. Its good to take the regular part first so that you get a feel of what's going to be on the test.

I would say yes. Many colleges require it, and it is good to have a score in care you want to apply to any of them. Second, it's not too bad. Spit out a intro, body, conclusion, and 30 min later you are done.
