I bought natural Alfalfa 4 my year old Sulcata 2 get her off of the collards she is dependent on. She developed a beak deformity and her diet has to be changed.

  2. a diet for a sulcata needs to be high in fiber and low in protien, it needs

    Orchard grass or hay

    Timothy or Bermuda grass or hay

    Leafy greens  (dandelions, clover, endive, grape leaves, mulberry leaves, weeds etc.)

    Cactus pads  

    Additional calcium supplementation is essential. Powdered calcium can be sprinkled all foods. It is suggested that one use calcium supplemented with vitamin D3 if the animal is being maintained indoors and calcium without D3 if it is outdoors.  Provision of a cuttlefish bone, which can be gnawed if desired, is also recommend, a nateral weed diet  consists of Dandelion (Taraxacum officianale)

    Hawkbits (Leontodon spp.)

    Sowthistles (Sonchus spp.)

    Hawkweeds (Pictis spp.)

    Hawkbeards (Crepis spp.)

    Plantains (Plantago spp.)

    Clovers (Trifolium spp.)

    Honeysuckle (Lonicera periclymenum) [preferred by T. hermanni]

    Cat's ears (Hypochoeris spp.)

    Vetches (Vicina spp.)

    Trefoils (Lotus spp.)

    Mallows (Malva spp.)

    Bindweeds (Calystegia spp.)

    Sedums (Sedum spp.)

    Ivy-leaved Toadflax (Cymbalaria muralis)
