  1. If you say chest pain to NHS direct they will just send to A and E, you may aswell just cut out the middle man and go.

  2. Could be many things. High BP doesn't mean it's a heart problem. It could simply be a trapped nerve in the shoulder/neck or arm, you'll be surprised how much like Cardiac pain they can feel. My family has heart problems and I (at the moment) have high BP and high cholesterol i began to get arm/chest pain only to discover it was a combination of stress (loss of my Mum to Heart) and a trapped nerve in my back. High BP needs to be treated so if they aren't taking meds they should be. Heart pain is usually accompanied with tightness of the chest, shortness of breath, back pain, arm pain shooting into the jaw, vomiting etc. Always best to get it checked though to be safe.

  3. its most likely to be angina pain if nothing happened after their episode of pain. when a person gets this pain, they should take their GTN tablets or spray to relieve any pain, if the pain is still there after taking the GTN 3 times in 5 minutes then an ambulance is needed due to the person having heart attack characteristics.

  4. it is one of the symptoms of a heart mabey call nhs24 and se what they say (08454 242424)

  5. There is no way to tell without getting an ECG and bloods etc, they need to see thier GP or if its outside opening hours go to accident and emergency, it could be caused by a number of things, but a 'heart attack' or angina is one possibility so it must be checked out.

  6. It is one of several symptoms of a heart episode.

  7. of course it is a heart attack. i definitely think so, coz you said they had blood pressure too. yes. he should check it out immediately.

  8. High blood pressure puts you at higher risk for heart attack. Pain in the left arm is one of the symptoms often reported by people who have had heart attacks. It is usually accompanied by pain or pressure in the chest area and shortness of breath.  So, this pain could be anxiety or it could be an impending heart attack. You should see a doctor.

  9. the best advice would be to call nhs direct they will help you with your concerns http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/                 good luck

  10. This is the second time I have seen a serious question like this... Why is this being asked here and not in an ER?
