  1. It is honorable to be a Marine period.  The officer route has its perks, but never forget that the senior enlisted Marines hold enormous respect as well!

  2. You must trust and believe in your decisions. If it is your calling then nothing should keep you from it.

  3. go for it.  good luck.

  4. I'm 15 and a half,I have similar hopes to.I want to be a Combat Engineer. The pay should be the least of your worries.Go to Lava Dog's website,I learned a lot.Being a USMC officer will probably be the most important decision you'll ever make, but you have to be sure of a lot of things. You need to have fitness, intelligence and leadership ability (I still don't know if I have that, but I have plenty of time to find out).Even for being an enlisted Marine, they say 'once a marine always a marine' so I imagine for being an officer, its a pretty intense decision.I'm not going to go to OCS until I'm 100% sure I can do it,they even tell you to make sure on the website haha.

  5. Being a Marine is an honor in itself, but being a Marine Officer is extraordinary. Don't worry about the pay, an entry level 2nd Lieutenant makes about 29 grand a year plus all of the benefits. I should probably mention you won't command a battalion until you reach Lieutenant Colonel, Lieutenants command a platoon.
