Bangalore is a highly populated muslim city. I am assuming it's because it might be a Friday during Ramadan a month of

fasting between sun up and sundown. Perhaps they do this not to cause conflicts with the other religions. As far as I know hindu's christians are permitted alcohol, but not muslims..perhaps a show of respect.
