I bought an apartment a few years ago before they came up with a policy that No Pets are allowed. I found a dog recently and I am thinking of keeping it, the only problem is the lady that runs the Apartments/condominiums is telling me I cant have a dog because of the policy. The dog is sweet and adorable and It doesn't bark and it does its business inside the house. The lady also has a dog and her excuse is that she had the dog before the policy was made. Is there any law or anything I can do to prevent from losing the dog or losing the apartment?

  1. you could always do what the people in my building do and get your doc to give you a note saying you need it for your mental health

  2. this is very common in most HOAs.  always read the rules before purchasing a home.

  3. Probably Not... you might need to get a new appartment... unless you sew or come to an agreement theres nothiing you can do about a policy.. maybe someone in the other rooms is extreamly allergic to animals.. good luck tho i love dogs and i know how you feel because when i lived in an apartment when we had to move they wouldnt let me keep my dog
