  1. Yes it is ,along with a wheel brace and jack.If they do not the car is not legal for the road. The same applies to your own vehicle .. If it does not have these items ,insist they supply them before you leave or report them to the police . If you get stopped you will be fined as well as the company.

  2. You've spotted the well-known American assumption that everyone is talking about their rules. Again.

To answer your question, no, a spare wheel is not a legal requirement.  In fact, I know of a couple of hire outfits who deliberately remove theirs to prevent theft, so you have to call them and they send someone out with a spare & tools - not terribly helpful in the middle of the night!

  3. First you have to learn to spell to pass your learning permit. Then you study and find out the answer to that question. You also should make it known where you are from and orient yourself with the culture. You dont hire a car from where I'm from, you might rent one.You might pay a driver, but you dont call it hiring him.If you own a car in america ,you are required by law to have a spare tire in case of emergency.I am fairly certain it is a regional and not a federal law.

  4. In the United States of America a rental car is expected to be clean, safe and complete with a spare tire including the tools to change that tire.

I hope this helps our British Friends.

  5. Not a legal requirement, but if you were stranded you could claim that the car wasn't fit for use and get your money back and possibly even additional costs

  6. whats a tyre?

  7. buy a new corvette...has run flat tires...NO spare,,,i dont care how u spell in England...i can understand ya mate

  8. I would imagine so

  9. No car needs to carry a spare tyre by law!!

  10. of course there is every vehicle requires to have at least one spare tire, however the tire does not have to match the original size or wheel of the vehicle.

  11. not a legal requirement or even needed for the mot, however if you do have one it must be legal (1.6mm of tread)

  12. YES ALL CARS FOR HIRE MUST HAVE A SPARE TIRE AND ROAD FLARES.

  13. No...but it should be.

  14. Yes they must carry a spare tire.

  15. You will not go to death row because the UK has abolished the death penalty for all but a few offenses, such as high treason and raping the wife of a King (the UK has not had a wife of a King since the 1950's, so that one should not be a problem), and a few other things, none of which are remotely relevant to this discussion.

  16. no it isnt but the hire company have a responsabilty to replace the tyre should it become un --road worthy
