Some are sporting the theory that some countries or areas will benefit from global warming while other losing. How do you think things have and will play out in the future?

  1. No I don't believe there will be global warming winners and losers. It’s called *global* warming because it is a *global* problem, not an international or local one. True some countries may be worse off than others. But no one is a winner if the earth we live on is slowly dying. There are no winners in this environmental crisis only losers. Lets just hope we can do something before it’s too late.

    Thanks for the article =0)

  2. There is no doubt in my mind that there will be winners and losers.

Take a look at weather pattern changes in history.

We have had several cycles of global warming and global cooling.  This is not something that is happening for the first time in the present day.  It has happened many times in history.

There are climates where certain crops cannot be grown ... too wet, too dry, too hot, too cold ... where on the planet those crops can be grown will move ... think wine for example.  Where it can be made can be economically beneficial to that region, provided there are entrepeneurs smart enough to take advantage of the changing cnditions.  Where it used to be, but can no more, will be devastating.

Suppose sea level rises by 100 feet due to melting ice caps, which means coast lines will change dramatically with less land surface for humans.  Cities on the currrent coast lines are going to be big losers.

Melting ice caps also mean less salt in the composition of sea water.  This has an effect on ocean currents.  Maybe Europe will no longer get bendefit of the Gult Stream, and instead of getting warmer, they will have a little ice age.  Will Africa get benefit of Gulf Stream instead, carrying more moisture there, to support better agriculture.

It is a c**p shoot.  We are very ignorant of what the consequences are going to be.

  3. Even if global warming might provide a beneficial affect at first for some countries, it could only be temporary. Over time, things would become too unbearable or dangerous for the human race to handle. Either ways, the fact of believing that global warming could be benign is proof of the economie's disregard for the world. What they don't realize is that our lives are in danger and there's not much we can do. So if the point of the article is that global warming might not be completely bad, it only looks like a reason to cover up the problem that is probably too late to solve.
