I bought a fish, i don't know it's name, but it look likes a pacu. It develops a red color on its fins and tail, the color of it's body is silver, but he doesn't have any teeth. What fish is it? Whe i bought it, it is in a 20 gal. tank with goldfish.

  1. It is a tinfoil barb because a pacu tail is black and white, and they have teeth. It will also nip the fins of your goldfish because like the pacu it is semi-aggressive

  2. If it is looks like a pacu chances are it is tropical, so you don't even have to identify it to know you shouldn't have it. Pacu DO have teeth so I am not sure how your fish doesn't. I don't have enough information to base what kind of fish it is, but I would take it back now.

  3. Try posting a picture online and linking too it, you might get a sensible ID that way.

Possibly a Tinfoil barb, but that just a random guess.

  4. it cant be. pacus definitely has teeth.... if its with gold fish, its probably harmless
