I'm trying to move a couch into my basement, and it would fit though the door frame if the door wasn't there. Would it be easy to take the door off, move the couch in, and then put the door back on? Would I just s***w the hinges back into the holes that they were in before?

  1. taking the pins out of the hinges and removing the door  that way seems to be the obvious choice and it really simple too!

  2. ***Don't unscrew the hinges.***

    Remove the hinge pins.

Place a narrow bladed screwdriver against the bottom of the hinge pin then Tap them up from he bottom with a hammer till you can grab the top of the pin and pull it out.

Most exterior doors have at least three hinges. Remove top & bottom first and middle one last.

  3. Cant you just pull the pins out of the hinges? There is a pin that keeps the two half's or the hinges together. Use a smaller s***w driver and a hammer and tap the pins out from the bottom. You should only have three pins.
