Is it a rip off to get the "travel insurance" when purchasing packages through online agencies??

Has anyone had to use this?

You have to make the decision.....is it worth the $80 if your trip is cancelled, or you get sick, etc.

With the growing number of small airlines that are going bankrupt and shutting down, travel insurance is becomming a more popular option.

I've used it recently for my flight back home. With airlines canceling like crazy now-a-days, it was worth the extra $15.

I had to use it once.  Father got ill and couldn't make the trip, had to reschedule.  It was worth it since it was a cruise.

It depends what it covers.  If it's trip cancellation insurance (and be sure to check what is covered--usually it's only medical emergencies), it might be worth it.

it depends on what it covers, but go to trussvilletravel.com and look at some of the prices. theyre pretty good, plus there is different plans for different coverage.
