I'm a Christian and I happen to model for nude art. I've had some Christians criticize me for doing this. I don't see what the big deal is. I have the body for it and I don't look bad naked. Why not model for nude art? Why do I get criticized for it? Is it a sin to model for nude art?

  1. if ur a Christian you know what sin is .. if it crosses that boundry then yes it is sin .. if not then dont offend people by sharing that area of your life with them and enjoy what you know is not a sin to you ..

  2. dont let the laws of the blind lead your visions

  3. Can't answer properly without pics.

    Post them, or GTFO ------->

  4. Its a sin to do just about anything. If you're not hurting yourself or anyone else, do what you have to do.

  5. Of course it's not a sin.

PS - I would like to judge for myself if you're as good as you say you are - Pls send pics.

  6. Personally, I would consider it a sin to expose my naked body to a man other than my husband or if necessary to a doctor. One is honored by God the other necessary for physical health. To do it for profit doesn't seem right.

I would try to find other work such as modeling with clothes on. Or, you could compromise by posing nude for women to draw you. They would most likely not commit the sin of lusting after your body as most men would be tempted to do.

    Blessings.

  7. What is your state of mind when you are naked? If your mind is on dirty things then I'd say it's wrong. Do you cause men in the class to lust after you with your poses? Do you do any flirting while you're naked?

I agree that there is nothing wrong with non-sexual nudity. I love skinny dipping and sunning without anything on. But you have to be careful about causing anyone to stumble.

On the other hand, pornography is totally wrong.

    I'm not saying you're doing p**n.

  8. Yes, because u shouldn't give ur body in that sense! The Lord wants u 2 treat ur body as a temple, and what u r doing with ur body is wrong!

As well, God still loves u and hopes u'll open ur heart 2 him! Y not devote ur life 2 the one who created u and loves u so much as 2 die on the cross so u could have a choice 2 allow him 2 guide ur life! Christ died on the Cross so we wouldn't have 2 carry the burden(guilt)of our sins! God is in control of ur life, so u must fear his power!

  9. um. no. stop it!

  10. Yes it is. The big deal is, you have a better soul and spirit to share with people, not your sexuality. Guys don't call it art when they salivate all over your pictures.

  11. I think it has the potential to lead others to sin, which would make it a sin. As a Christian, I would have to assume that you are familiar with the term "conviction". I would put some long hard thought into this, especially if you having some doubt. Also think about the terms "vanity", and "pride". Be well.

  12. Hello Teresa,

No it is not and sketching a nude is always a compulsory exercise in fine art. Look at the Vatican and Sistine Chapel for example. Presented correctly the nude body is one of God's greatest triumphs and such sculptures and paintings of the human body honour him.

    Cheers,

  13. It's not a sin at all. It's not like you're modeling in a sexual way. God created us nude. Why would it be a sin to be proud of your nude body?

  14. No it's not a sin.  Why don't you come on over to my house :)

  15. People who can't separate art from depravity are the same juvenile twits who think breastfeeding (especially in public) is disgusting or somehow immoral.  I've never heard of a Commandment against nude art modeling.  I don't think the fact that these people are Christian has much to do with their complaints.  They are just using it as an excuse.  They are probably the type of people who would criticize you no matter what religion they followed (if any), because they fail to differentiate between Playboy and Botticelli.

  16. It is not a sin. You are doing this for purely art. Unless you are having s*x before marrige or something like that then it is not a sin. If you don't believe its a sin, then it probably isn't. You can't commit a sin unless you know it is wrong.

  17. I can't answer until I see a picture.

  18. I would never want to put you down or make you feel bad, but it is a sin to model nude.  We as Christians are suppose to keep ourselves covered, be modest.  You need to ask God to show you what is right for you.

  19. The general rule on sin is, if you have to ask, you are probably doing something wrong.

I can't tell you, you must decide.

  20. No, it's not a sin. Some Christians are too judgemental. I will bet you all the money I have, that the sins they have commit, or are still committing are worse than yours. Even with that said, who cares what others think. More importantly, who cares what others do, as long as it's not hurting you or anyone else.  It's not like you are selling yourself for s*x. You are giving artists something beautiful to draw. Artists do not look at nude bodies as something to get off on. They are learning. Even if they are new to the concept, they get over the thrill of nudity in less than 30 seconds. It's like being on a nude beach for the first time. Big deal.

I wouldn't even bring it up around other Christians, you owe no one an explanation and you shouldn't have to feel like you are being judged.

Keep on doing what you're doing! Not everyone has the courage to disrobe in front of strangers. :)
