Is it a slap in the face to the senators and reps who are already in Washington?

When both parties are saying that they are going to "change" or "reform" the culture of Washington.

And McCain and Obama are themselves part of the establishment. How are they going to change what they themselves are part of?

Are these guys serious or is it just rhetoric?

  1. No they are the do nothing congress and senate. They are saying what they believe  they have to say to win. This has been going on as long as people have been running for office.

  2. It is very serious rhetoric.

The truth is, any candidate can/does propose & promise what we want to hear. Once in office, anything goes. I don't think those already in D.C. feel they're being slapped. They understand that candidates say & do whatever it takes to get elected.

That, my friend, is the absurdity of politics and politicians.

  3. Good they need to be slapped in the face. I think this is why McCain chose Palin as his VP. She may not be experienced as Obama says, but she has a proven record of booting corruption in the butt. This may very well be what America needs. Someone needs to stop the oil companies from raping us at every fill up.

  4. McCain and his supporters are more of the establishment than Obama. They have hired the same people that ran the Bush campaigns (besides Rove) to run the McCain campaign. It is even funnier when people like Joe Lieberman get on stage and say we need to change Washington. Yes, we need to change Washington by getting rid of people, such as Joe Lieberman.

  5. LOL Amanda .. I was just going to say the same... So many of them on both sides need a good slap in the face!

  6. When McCain does, it certainly is. He has been part of that establishment for years.

Obama came in saying he would fight it, and has. So that is no surprise.

The ones there since the majority turned Democrat agree with Obama. They are happy to see it happen. Many of the Republicans wanted to end the Bush era, so they are for it also, but also consider McCain a hypocrite. That is the reason so few have campaigned for him.

  7. Rally behind Obama my fellow White Brothers and Sisters.

WHITE ANGLO SAXON PROTESTANTS FOR OBAMA.

    SCOTTISH-IRISH FOR OBAMA

  8. Absolutely, it's a slap!  A hard one!  This is the most unpopular Congress in history.... they need it.

And while McCain and Obama are both part of the establishment, Sarah Palin isn't while Joe Biden is.  McCain has shown that he's willing to take positions that are unpopular with his party, Obama hasn't shown us he's willing to take any position!

  9. Its all just politics...youll learn that soon enough.

  10. Somebody should slap some of the Senators and Representatives in the face and wake them up.  As a nation we need help.  We need them to vote on one bill at a time and not add their pet funding projects to the bill in order to vote for it.  If you don't really think a certain bill will help then vote no, but quit holding good bills hostage by withholding your votes unless we will also pay for silly projects.
