I have got these long black things (about 7cm long) that have gotten into mly house. I really need to know, are they worms or leeches? They are kind of pointy both ends, dark colour, with a lighter stripe running lengthways along them.

Please help!

  1. you'll know if it's a worm if about in the centre of them its slightly rised, and had no stripes. That's it's belly.

If it's a leech it wont have that.

  2. assuming that they don't have legs, I say that they are neither worms nor leeches. Leeches need water or a moist enviroment and worms are lighter in color. as for the light stripe I can't say. best thing i can think of is get a container of some sort and nuged them in there. then you fling them out your window or over your neighbor's wall.

  3. They are unlikely to be leeches unless you live in a tropical rain forest. They may be millipedes if they have lots of legs or some kind of insect larva if they only have six legs.

  4. leeches have round sucker pad on both ends, not pointy

worms are cylindrical, pointy both ends, and has a thicker node section resembling a ring.

  5. I'm pretty sure leeches need extreme wet environments, so I guess they are either caterpillars or another larva.
