i really want to do a 3-month course in the uk (only just decided this), and am currently traveling around in ireland. technically speaking i could easily go to the uk as a tourist (i get 90 days as a tourist, just enough time) and just take the course, rather than go all the way back to australia to apply for a short-term student visa and then fly all the way back here again. either way i wouldnt be planning to/allowed to work or anything and i can fund the whole thing -- so does it really make a difference? i dont really want to breach any laws because i really like england and hope to spend much more time there in the future without having any kind of bad record -- but in this case it just doesnt seem necessary though?

  1. Because of everything going on this world in this century yes you will have to get a student visa anytime that you are planning to study it does not matter months days of years also if you applying for a loan you will have to show proof of student visa also if not applying for a loan then also maybe the school will ask you for proof you have to get this student visa it makes a lot of diff this times.

  2. I think you can acquire a sudent visa in Ireland only, or you could get your status converted once you are in UK. Immigration people are very reasonable and helpful. If you are not particular, you may finish your training while on tourist visa, as you mentioned, either way you won't be allowed to work there.

Hope it helps, good luck with your study program in the UK!
