Is it acceptable to bring in a "acupuncturist" note for missing work instead of a doctors note?

  1. Depends more on who you work for...and how bad, but usually no. No, because usually going to an "acupuncturist" requires an appointment, which means you had time to think about it. Doctors notes are usually to tell them what kind of issues you were having that prevented you from going to work, or an emergency that came up and you didn't have time to tell your job.


  2. no i dont think so since you have to have an appointment for acupunture.

  3. Only if your boss knows you need acupuncture treatement due to a health condition.. then you can do it.. otherwise you do need a doctors note. You need to tell your boss why you need those acupuncture sessions and your doctor should be aware of them and he should write you a sick note if you tell him you had back spasms or whatever it is you see the acupuncturist for and then he will write you a sick note as the acupuncturist is specialised to ease your pain but only your doctor is allowed to write sick notes and if he knows you need an acupuncturist and regular appointments he will write you a sick note...the acupuncturist is not entitled to do it...
