Is it okay to put a question in your thesis statement? For example, "When comparing and contrasting W.W. Jacobs' story, The Monkey's Paw, and Liam O'Flaherty's story, The Sniper, one thing is to be asked: Do we control our fate?"

It is completely acceptable to use a question in your thesis statement. For your example, I would compare and contrast how each story would answer that question to assure continuity in your thesis.
