My idea is to have a theatre room in my basement that is lower than what the regular slab of concrete is. i want to be able to walk down into the theatre room. Has this ever been done before.

  1. By code the ceiling has to be 7 foot tall to be classified as "living space" but you can do what you want

  2. There is no code restricting that. You want to make sure ground water won't be an issue though.
