My brothers got home from fishing, and they had told me that they had been stopped by the police and given a warning about how you can't fish from a bridge. My brothers said they were fishing and had a great time and some old guy pulled up on them and called the police.

They were fishing on a highway when it occured.

  1. There is no mention in the 2007 dnr book on fishing. Here is the number to double check however.

  2. No it's not! That is really stupid. Unless they were on private property the cops need to re-read the dnr book. I live in South Dakota and it's not illegal here either. Good luck and good fishing!

  3. I can't tell you about MN, but obviously you can't because the police told them they couldn't- but here in my state it is definitely against the law. There is a safety factor involved with bridge fishing.
