Is it a crime to open mail that isnt addressed to you from the bank and other organisations?

  2. Not if you don't tell anyone...lol. Joking...it is if you do it for unlawful purposes...but if you do it to find the return address etc. then I don't see how. In certain countries, such as Italy, they do have a "privacy law" and so you could get into trouble just by opening someone's post. But I'm pretty sure there isn't one as such in the UK.
