Is it against uk law to have & use 2 or more names

for example can I call myself by another name because i want to, & not be breaking the law? if it is against the law... how come?

Yes of course it is allowed, famous people do it all the time, not legally changing their names, just calling themselves something different. eg David Tennant is still known as David McDonald when he's at home.

It is fine but you won't legally be able to change your name unless by deed poll and opening a bank account could be tricky.

Try not to pick something like Adolf Hitler because someone already had that name and he didn't go down too well in history.
