  1. No its not ok.  So many parents do this to help their kids feel fuller and sleep longer.  Your child's body is not fully ready for foods yet.  One their kidneys are not at full running levels as an older child.  What you are doing is introducing foods that your child cannot metabolize correctly.  Babies get all they need from Breast milk or formula.  Adding anything else will cause a whole slew of health problems.   Things like tongue thrusting, a baby has to work harder to swallow added stuff to formula, which makes them latch onto the bottle different.  After they get off the bottle, that  swallowing method follows them as they grow, they then start pushing on the one thing that's always in their mouth....their teeth.  Ever see a child with buck teeth?  one of the many causes of this is putting additives to bottles.  Cavities as they get their teeth.  Obesity, diabetes, choking, the list goes on and on.

sure there will be mothers that will tell you that they did this and their kid turned out just fine.  15 years ago kids rode on their parents lap in cars, 10 years ago kids were sleeping on their stomachs.  5 years ago people thought it was ok to give babies water.  The thing with it all, is that your Child's Doctor will also tell you its not ok.  If your doin this to get your child to sleep longer, change your methods of putting them to bed.  There is seriously no reason to be giving your child food it cannot digest properly at this age.  Food is to be eaten on a spoon or fork, not in a bottle.

  2. no its not

  3. Your baby's digestive system is not ready for anything right now other than formula or breast milk. It will not help him sleep better at night, if that is why you are doing it. If your baby needs extra supplements or vitamins, ask the pediatrician.

  4. What is gerbert??? :S

And if it is any kind of cereal it is WAY better togive them it with a spoon because if you add it to there bottle its a chocking hazard!!

  5. What's gerbert?  Your baby should be on formula and not having milk either and nothing should be added to it.

  6. No.

If it is to make him/her sleep better at night, I don't know any baby who's going to sleep good with an upset stomach.

Experts recommend waiting 6 months before offering any solids to your baby, and NEVER put them in a bottle!

  7. Nothing should be added to any bottle. Just stick with milk.
