I danced when I was little and stopped but I still have the same dream of becoming a dancer. I love it and its my passion. I just feel to old now. I know its intense to be a dnacer and you have to start young and keep it up. Which I didn't happen for me. I also have some money shortage for classes. Now that I have a job I want to continue to dance.... but is my dream to far fetch now?

  1. of course not..i don't subscribe to the theory of 'you are too old.' if it's your passion, then go right ahead. It's more mind over matter. If you have the drive, the willpower..etc..then-i know this sounds cliche-you can achieve whatever it is that you want. jonathan roberts of dwts started dancing at age eighteen..so go ahead and make your dreams come true. good luck..

  2. You can try, as long as your one of those people that learns dancing quickly then it should be no problem. Though I wouldn't because by that age everyone else your age will have taken dance lessons for a while so they'd be on a much higher level. If you are just starting you would probably be placed in a begginer level with a bunch of younger kids. You should have continued with it if it's your dream!!!!!

  3. It depends on the type of dance and what your ultimate goal is.  You may never be the leading ballerina for one of the big international companies, but that doesn't mean you can't become an excellent dancer and even get good enough to teach dance.

You might also find that if you switch dance types, you'll reach whatever goal it is that you've set.  I have a bunch of friends who studied ballet, tap, jazz, and modern all through high school, but realized they would never be professional dancers.  So they switched to ballroom dance and both compete and teach.

If you really want to dance, and if you have the money to take the group and individual lessons that you need, then GO FOR IT.  You'll regret it 30 years from now if you don't.

  4. You are definitely not too old to start dancing!!! My sister is 21 and she just took her first dance class ever (besides when she was real young) and she did great! It was jazz which is pretty easy to learn, especially if you naturally have dance talent. Also, I have a friend whos mom is in either her 30's or 40's and she started taking dance a couple years ago and shes really really great! So, it is certainlly not too late to start dancing again! Go for it! (:

  5. First of all, what kind of dancing?  The other real answer (not to be mean) is that you are probably too old for ballet (especially), hip hop and probably tap.  No reason not to try though.... I wish you Good Luck

  6. no of course not, try to start some beginner open adult classes, you only go when u can and only pay for the ones you go to

    :)

  7. Looking back, I never regret doing anything in my life but sometimes regret NOT doing something. Give it a try. Don't wait another 10 years.

Keep in mind there are different types of dance. It is too late to try to become a serious professional ballet dancer, but you still can have a lot of fun learning ballet just for your own enjoyment. It's not too late to start a ballroom career, on another hand. Six years ago, when I was starting ballroom in my late 20s, I though I'd do it just for fun, but it just so happens that I went far beyond my own expectations. .

  8. nope.

nothings too far fetched. if you were like forty, then id be like...sorrehhh

but yeah, if you have the money for it SET YOUR MIND TO IT, tell yourself every night that this is what you want and nothings going to get in our way. sounds corny but it works :]

    goood luck
